PSL Charity FC

PSL Charity FC was borne from a desire to raise awareness of charitable causes that have affected people involved with or play as part of PSL Soccer Leagues.

PSL Charity FC have teamed up with Help For Heroes & Meningitis Now and they have both kindly supported us.

We are aiming to raise money and awareness through football for charitable causes that have affected us directly or indirectly.

To date we have raised £966.25 for two charities respectively, Meningitis Now and Help For Heroes.

We have since linked up with two more charitable organisations in The Ben Cohen Stand UP Foundation and Mind respectively.

HELP FOR HEROES
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The game was arranged in order to raise funds and awareness of veterans injured or maimed from active duty. One of our players was told he would never walk again and was in a wheelchair, following an IED explosion. 18 months later he was plying football with PSL Soccer Leagues. We felt that we should help give something back and with the support of the players on the day and the players who played on the following Wednesday when we donated all monies we managed to raise £608.75.

 PSLCFC Fixture Two

Date : Sunday 1st July 2018
Venue : Prairie Sports Village
Opponents : Angel Inn FC
Kick Off : 1.00pm
----------------------------------------

PSL CFC 1 - 5 Angel Inn

-----------------------------------------

Angel Inn played the better football initially and took the lead through a brilliant 20 yard strike but as time went on PSLCFC grew into the game and equalised through a Kori Fox opportunist goal.

Both teams had chances but it was Angel Inn who retook the lead mid-way through the second half and in what was a tight game played in sweltering conditions Angel Inn grabbed another three goals in the final ten minutes as PSLCFC tired.

Angel Inn were a very good side with bags of experience and quality all through the team and a great test in the start to our fixtures.

Both Gregg Hodson and Declan Heavican were exceptional in midfield but the MOM award was awarded to scorer Kori Fox who linked up with fellow forward Conor Hodson intelligently.
